Celebration of Dance (Phoenix) was created in 1999 and launched in April of 2000 exclusively in observance of National Dance Week. National Dance Week is an annual occurance observed during the last week of April. The mission: a nationwide campaign to bring visibility and recognition to dance-arts in our communities. Each year more than 5000+ events and activities are held throughout the United States as part of this nationwide campaign and here in Arizona Celebration of Dance is our contribution, an annual concert series with a mission!
Celebration of Dance is also an exciting and diverse display of dance expression for the benefit of our dance community and presented to the public as eductional, artistic, entertianing and enjoyable concert-event. Each year the dance community is invited to submit their work to Celebration of Dance. A wide-range of dance styles are selected by a committee consisting of industry dance professionals. The result, a true Celebration of Dance!
Celebration of Dance is produced by Golden Lion Productions a non-profit (501 c3) volunteer organization serving the community with creative and educational opportunities. Golden Lion Productions was founded by professional dance teacher-choreographer Helena Saraydarian who is also the creator, executive producer, and director of Celebration of Dance and holds the title as Arizona's delegate for National Dance Week.
