HOW TO PARTICIPATE

"Celebration of Dance"

National Dance Week
in Phoenix, Arizona

Please join us for the 7th annual celebration in observance of
National Dance Week and take part in this national campaign to help
bring visibility to dance in our communities.

This is a highly publicized and well organized concert. We invite the community to take
part either by performing and or by attending.

All dance styles are embraced and considered...
Ballet * Jazz * Modern * Tap * Hip Hop * Urban * Ballroom * Lyrical * Salsa * Flamenco *
And other various cultural dances...

How to be involved in this nationwide campaign:
1. Performers submit your work via live auditions or video submission (AZ) see details below
2. Please join us for the concert / Saturday, April 29, 2006 / 7:30pm / Herberger Theater
3. Make a tax-deductible donation to help us continue Celebration of Dance:

BY LIVE AUDITION:
-AUDITION DATE: Saturday - March 11, 2006
-TIME: 1:00pm - 5:00pm / *By Appointment only
-LOCATION: 1700 N. 7th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85007

*APPOINTMENTS: e-mail - goldenlionproductions@yahoo.com / indicate 1:00pm, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00 or 5:00pm time slot. We will confirm your appointment.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:
--TYPE OF DANCE: All styles considered
--LENGTH OF PIECE/S: 2.5min - 5min
--AGE: minimum 16
--PIECES: for live audition: 2 dance pieces max.
--MULTIPLE DANCE PIECES: you may audition 2 live pieces and drop-off video of the rest, see video submission fee.

PREPARE:
---1-2 dance piece/s which you or your group would like to perform in the concert if selected.
---You may audition up to 2 pieces during the live audtions.
---If you wish to submit more than 2, please bring a video of the rest of the pieces you wish to be considered and leave it with us with a "video submission form" & video entry fee.
---Video submissions, please include $5.00 check with your entry.
or $10.00 if you wish video to be returned. Your video will NOT be mailed back unless $10.00 fee is included with your entry.
---If no entry fee is enclosed with your video, judges will NOT review it or consider it.
---Each dance piece MUST be 2.5 -5:00 minutes in length.
---If piece is longer we will not consider it.
---All dance styles considered and welcomed.
---Costume/makeup is necessary for video and or live audition.
---Looking for strong dancers, soloists, duets, trios, and strong performing groups, non-professional and professional companies are invited to submit.
---If your dance piece is selected for the concert/s, it must be performed as seen during the audition or video submission. NO altering choreography, costumes or alternating dancers without our permission.

BY VIDEO SUBMISSION:
Deadline: March 11, 2006
Video handling fee: $5.00-$10.00 (can be used as a tax-deductible donation /NO refunds)

"Video submission form" will be posted for download at the end of January.

• All Video / DVD submissions must have a "submission form" included with your entry. Click on "Video Submission Form" above, print, complete information and mail with your entry.
• Recommended for professional dance companies, out-of-town groups/companies or companies unable to attend audition date.
• Submit a VHS or DVD copy of your dance piece/s to be considered for the concert.
• NO limit on how many dance piece to submit on video.
Dance pieces MUST be 2.5 - 5:00 minutes in lenght.
• If your dance piece is selected the piece must be performed as seen on video, NO altering choreography, costumes or alternating dancers without permission.
• Same criteria as live auditions (see above info)
• Each video entry must include a "Submission Form."
• Each video entry must include a $5.00 handling fee.
• Videos will NOT be returned (mailed back to you) unless you include an extra $5.00 (total $10.00) with your entry, OR you may pickup your video at the theater during the tech or performance day with no extra charge.
• If your piece is selected from your video entry, your video will be held until tech day at which time you can pickup your video.
• Please label your videos with:
-----Name of group, company or solo dancer
-----Contact name, e-mail & phone number
-----Include the "Submission Form"
----Include $5.00 for video entry fee and extra $5.00 if you wish to have your video returned to you
---Please do not send promo dance videos such as excerps from concerts or promotional performances, each dance piece needs to be seen in it's entirity.
